Pete with boys (Justin and Pete) coonhunting 1983 |
History of Sandy Valley Kennel
Sandy Valley Kennel got started in the early 1980's by Pete Marra and his father-in-law Ken Wallace
for their Plott coonhounds. Now we are strictly beagle hunters. This transition happened slowly untill we were out of
coonhunting altogether. Myself "Justin Marra" and my dad "Pete Marra" are now trying to breed solid hard hunting,
fast, gun dogs. We run and breed homegrown stock with success even through today, but in recent years have
gotten into the Patch bloodline and love what we have introduced into our kennel. We have made the annual trip up north
to Drummond Island for the last 6 years to try our luck with the hare. Not only have we had good success up there, we have
met a lot of other beaglers and had the pleasure of running with some of them.
