February 2008. Running patch hounds with Darrel Shildt, the dogs are on a rabbit and kick it back up on the video.
Dogs are Smokeypatch, Willypatch, a patch female and Dozer. (Willy and the female are out of our Amberpatch x Smokey)
February 2007. Justin walks the dogs down to where he saw a rabbit-they jump 2 out. Babs, Daisy and Patch take
the one on camera and Dozer and Gunner take the other.
February 2008. A rabbit runs past but it is hard to make out on the video. The dogs are Dozer and
Babs followed by the 2 pups Copper and Boo-both are opening up on the track quite a bit. This rabbit holes up pretty
quick in a brush pile.
Dozer, Gunner, Echo and Boo are called in to a rabbit that I jumped. You can hear Boo (6 months at the time)
opening up some. That rabbit circled in the brush for quite awhile. December 28, 2007
The above link was videoed in Oct 07 on Drummond. Some of the dogs are Charles Aldridge's and Bud Glyshaw's
(patch hounds) and our Daisy, Echo, Dozer and Babs. There isn't much to see until one dog takes a split hare track,
the others take one out of hearing eventually. The sound of 12 hounds driving a hare is a beautiful thing though!
Above is a link to a rabbit hunt from last Feb. 2006. Unfortunately, I didn't get the camera on in
time to catch the rabbit crossing the field. The dogs are Gunner, Babs, and Dozer and Sugar. Both Dozer (white)
and Sugar (open-marked) are under a year old.
The above link is a short video of the dogs running the rabbit up a steep hill. The dogs are Patch,
Gunner, Dozer, Sugar and Echo bringing up the rear ( we've had him a few months now and are still working on getting him in
good shape)
Dozer and Echo on part of a 45 min. run, the rabbit had just crossed the field. You'll hear Kenny (4) and
Steven (3) in the background cheering them on.
Above are 2 clips of the same run, you can see the rabbit in both of them. The dogs overrun it a bit,
but they get it straightened out pretty quick. Little voice in the background is 3 yr old, Steven.
